YUKA mini 800 will not charge after an update: three owners, one workaround

Independently reported 3 times by different owners (3 from a private group — verifiable to us, not to every reader; see Sources & Methodology). Manufacturer has acknowledged this. This records that the issue was independently reported — it isn't an estimate of how common the issue is among all owners.

Robot body — not the app. See our app vs. firmware vs. RTK guide if you're not sure which one you're dealing with.

Before you start: if your YUKA has stopped charging after an update and the dock itself looks normal (green light on, contacts clean, mower still drives onto it), the reports below are the closest match we have. One owner got charging back by disconnecting the battery for a few seconds — that is the only fix anyone in these threads found, and it is a workaround rather than a repair.

What owners are reporting

Three independent YUKA owners hit charging failures close together in September 2026, and none of them had a version-confirmed cause to point at:

  • A YUKA mini 800 (2025) on firmware 1.30.29.24 could no longer charge at all — not even when placed on the station by hand — for about a week. Its battery had reached 0%, which left it unable to take the 1.30.29.26 update that might have fixed it. Mammotion support told the owner the case was being analysed; a Mammotion representative then replied publicly asking for the case ID1.
  • A second YUKA owner described a longer-running pattern: the battery would drop to 0% when a task was interrupted and the mower was driven manually, then the mower would return to the dock and never recharge. Later the same mower drained during a mow and again failed to recharge. Mammotion asked for logs and never came back with a cause2.
  • A third owner, on a YUKA mini 800 running the latest update, reported that the mower "refuses to charge properly" as part of a wider set of regressions: getting stuck in open lawn, driving into objects, and needing supervision every few minutes. Eight replies followed, several from owners describing the same drop in stability since updating — one summing it up as "night and day in stability" compared with four months earlier3.

The one thing that got charging back

The second owner found a workaround that worked twice: open the battery cover, unplug the battery for 10-20 seconds, plug it back in, and put the mower on the charger. Charging resumed immediately each time — and the fault returned a month or two later, so it treats the symptom rather than the cause2.

In the same thread a LUBA 2 owner offered a different revival trick for a mower already down to 0%: sit it on the charger for a couple of minutes, take it off for a couple of minutes, and repeat about half a dozen times until charging starts. They flagged the obvious caveat — that assumes the charger itself is alive1.

Two things we can't confirm: no single firmware version is shared across these reports (one names 1.30.29.24, the others only "the latest update"), so we can't say an update broke charging. And no owner above got a hardware diagnosis — Mammotion engaged with each case and closed none of them. If you have logs from a charger that accepts the mower but never raises the battery percentage, that is the evidence this page is missing.

The part that is not a bug at all

One owner asked Mammotion for a replacement battery after the workaround became routine. Mammotion declined and quoted $200+ to buy one, and the owner reported being unable to find the battery for sale anywhere — then asked whether another model's battery could be used instead2. We have not seen an answer to that, and it is worth knowing before you decide a battery fault is something you can fix cheaply.

If you're hitting this: confirm the mower reaches the dock but does not charge — a mower that never docks is a different fault, covered by error 1200 (recharge failed) and stuck charging contacts. If yours does dock and still will not charge, try the battery disconnect above and tell us your firmware version — a version-confirmed report is what turns this page into a fix. Let us know.
