What the error means
Mammotion's app shows "Recharge failed (1200)" with the message "No infrared signal is detected. Please ensure the LED on charging station is green and the infrared modules on both charging station and the robot rear are clean" when the mower and its charging dock fail to complete their infrared docking handshake. Error 1200 does not appear in Mammotion's official product manuals — see the fault-codes reference for the codes that are officially documented.
Confirmed cases
Case 1 — mower-side IR sensor, no fix found
An owner confirmed the dock itself had power and the dock's IR LED was visibly lit (checked via phone camera, since IR light isn't visible to the naked eye), and concluded the fault was on the mower's own IR receiver. Mammotion support did not reply as of the owner's last update; the only workaround has been manually placing the mower back on the dock after every cut rather than relying on auto-return1.
Case 2 — bad power cable to the charging dock
A second owner, replying on the same thread, reported hitting the identical error with a different root cause: the dock's power cable itself had failed, so the dock had no power at all and therefore no IR signal to find. Replacing the power cable resolved it1.
Case 3 — sun/glare theory, unconfirmed
A third owner asked directly whether the sun's position could interfere with the Yuka's ability to dock, after repeatedly hitting the 1200 error himself. Unresolved — no one has confirmed or ruled this out yet2.
If you're hitting this
- Check the dock has power and its LED is green first — the most basic check, and the thing Case 2's fix actually addressed. A failed or damaged dock power cable is a real, confirmed cause of this exact error.
- Clean both IR windows — the mower's rear-facing IR receiver and the dock's IR emitter — per the app's own instructions, before assuming either side is faulted.
- If the dock has confirmed power and both IR windows are clean: you may be looking at a mower-side sensor fault like Case 1, which currently has no known fix beyond manually returning the mower to the dock yourself after each cut. Contact Mammotion support and reference this error code.
- If docking only fails at certain times of day: consider Case 3's unconfirmed sun/glare theory — let us know if you can confirm or rule this out with a specific time-of-day pattern.
