Robot body — not the app. See our app vs. firmware vs. RTK guide if you're not sure which one you're dealing with.

Before you start: if your mower still charges normally when you manually place it on the dock, but stops finding the dock on its own and the charging station's green status LED has gone dark, this is a known pattern — not something you did wrong.

The symptom

The charging station's green status LED (normally on constantly, including overnight) goes dark. The mower can no longer navigate back to the dock and return-to-charge attempts fail, in one case triggering fault 2 1200 ("recharge failed"). If you manually place the mower on the dock, charging still works fine: the failure is specifically in the mower's ability to locate the station, not in the physical charging contacts.

Five independent reports, no shared firmware version

No single firmware version or cause has been confirmed; this is reported across owners on different builds, and Mammotion's own diagnosis each time pointed to a physical charging-station fault rather than a software regression:

  • A five-day-old LUBA 2 lost the green LED entirely; power-cycling the station briefly restored a flicker before it went dark again. A Mammotion moderator's response was direct: file a warranty ticket, the station is faulty1.
  • The identical symptom hit a second owner the same day: green light permanently off, mower charges when manually docked but can't find the station on its own1.
  • A third mower drove to the dock normally, then span in a circle and threw the docking-failure error, with the same dark green LED and same timeframe1. That owner asked outright: "can it really be that so many charging stations die almost simultaneously?" — a fair question the thread never answers, since Mammotion's response in each case was to replace the unit rather than investigate a common cause.
  • A fourth, separate case (different thread) confirmed the same outcome: green LED dark, charging still functional by hand, and a warranty replacement charging station resolved it2.
  • A LUBA 1 owner reported the identical docking-failure pattern with fault 1200 ("recharge failed"), independently — same symptom, different model line2.

One of the first cases self-resolved without explanation a few days later: the owner suspected an intermittent loose connection inside the station, not a fix they could reproduce on purpose.

If you're hitting this: confirm the failure mode matches (green LED dark, manual charging still works) before assuming it's the same issue: a station that never charges at all, even by hand, points to a different fault (see the fault-codes reference and other charging-related guides). If it matches, the fix every owner above used was a warranty replacement station, not a firmware update or a physical cleaning. Let us know if you find a repair that avoids a full replacement.
