What to do next
-
Look for your model on our Automower known issues before you install. That includes the pages on what owners found after updates.

Install it from the notice in the app, the way Husqvarna's manual describes. On models serviced by a dealer, the yearly service includes the update.

Stop and get help if
the mower leaves its work area, drives into things or its blades behave differently: press STOP and do not run it unattended until Husqvarna or your dealer has answered.

1. Check first
Look for your model on our Automower known issues. Two pages there are about updates: the 320, 430X and 450X NERA and the 405X and 415X. The NERA page also sets out what Husqvarna's release notes say changed. If your model and version aren't there, nothing has been reported to us about them yet. That is not the same as a promise that nothing is wrong.
2. Before you update
Take screenshots of the firmware version (in the About menu or the app), your settings and your map or work areas, and write down the date. If the update changes how the mower behaves, that record is your evidence when you contact your dealer or Husqvarna.
3. How Husqvarna's manuals describe it
On the 410iQ, 420iQ and 440iQ, the mower downloads new firmware by itself over Wi-Fi or mobile data, and a notice in the app lets you choose to install it1.
On the 520 and 550, the manual's maintenance schedule lists a firmware update every year, done by your servicing dealer2.
For other models, check your own manual.
4. When
Husqvarna's release notes for the 320, 430X and 450X NERA mark every version from 54.2 (2024) to 112.3 (2026) "not mandatory, but highly recommended" (see the NERA page). We have no source that says to wait a set time before installing.
5. After you update
For the first few runs, watch it in narrow passages, at the charging station and at the edges, and compare with how it mowed before. If it leaves its work area, drives into things or its blades behave differently, press STOP and don't leave it running unattended until your dealer or Husqvarna has answered.
If something changed, contact your dealer or Husqvarna support with your screenshots and both version numbers. Then tell us what happened, so the next owner finds it here.
