YUKA mini 2: what Mammotion says about LiDAR warmth, DropMow in low light, the dashed line and the side LEDs

Four questions YUKA mini 2 owners asked on Reddit in September and October 2026, and what a Mammotion staff account answered: a warm LiDAR module while charging is normal, DropMow needs enough light, the dashed line points at the first zone, and the side LEDs stay on while docked.

What staff said, not a repair guide. Each answer below is from a Mammotion staff account replying to a YUKA mini 2 owner on Reddit, with the date. None of it is a firmware note. The owners' own reports are marked as theirs.

The LiDAR module runs warm when charging starts

A new YUKA mini 2 owner wrote on 15 October that the LiDAR module read above 40 °C (104 °F) while the mower waited on the charger2. A Mammotion staff account answered the same day that it is normal for the LiDAR module on the YUKA mini 2 to give off some heat when charging begins at the station1. It advised disconnecting the mower's Bluetooth and closing the Mammotion app in the background on the phone, and said the temperature should then drop after a short while. The owner said he would check whether it did, and the thread has no later report.

DropMow needs enough light

An owner wrote on 23 September that DropMow stopped starting at dusk, with the message that the light was insufficient, even with the mower's own light on5. A Mammotion staff account replied that DropMow works from real-time recognition of its surroundings, not from a map you made beforehand, so too little ambient light can stop it. It advised waiting until the light is brighter3.

The same reply guessed that the owner might be using DropMow because a channel to that lawn could not be set up. It said the YUKA mini 2 can currently make isolated zones on the map, and suggested a separate mowing zone for a lawn that is mowed regularly, started from the app4. The owner answered that he could not keep a map, because he takes the mower and station in and out each day, and that the app needs the station as its reference point5.

The dashed line in the app points at the first zone

A YUKA mini 2 500 owner asked on 22 September why the dashed line on the map does not lead to the charging station. A Mammotion staff account answered on 23 September that the dashed line joins the robot to the centre point of the first zone, so on his screenshot it pointed where it should6.

The same owner also said the mower icon was sometimes drawn several metres from the real position. For that, staff advised putting the mower on the station, resetting the station's location in the app, waiting a short while and then sending a new task7. The owner had already tried it. He said the map sometimes visibly shifts when the mower returns to the station, and that it gets lost again in zones farther from the station8. Staff then suggested switching the map to the real-scene view to see whether there is a real positioning deviation, and asked for photos and for any error code9. The owner reported no error code, only the positioning problem8. That is one owner's report; the thread has no later reply.

If the same thing happens on yours, the steps for moving or resetting a station are on Charging and docking fixes.

The side LEDs stay on while docked

On 14 October an owner of a LUBA asked for the side LEDs to light only while the mower is working, because they stay on all night at the dock. A YUKA mini 2 owner in that thread said his mower does the same and that he leaves the LEDs turned off10. Another owner wrote that the app has a setting to turn them off12. On 15 October a Mammotion staff account answered that it had passed the suggestion to its product team for further evaluation11. No change or date has been announced.
