Robot body — not the app. See our app vs. firmware vs. RTK guide if you're not sure which one you're dealing with.

Charging symptoms look alike but rarely share a cause — a thermal cutoff, a failing power supply, a corroded contact, a misaligned dock, or a battery drained flat while the mower sat stuck. These are the owner-reported cases with a diagnosis or a workaround attached, each dated and marked with how many independent reports back it.

For model-specific dock failures, see the LUBA 2/2X dealer diagnostic walkthrough, stuck or corroded contact pins, the green status LED failure and the YUKA mini 800 post-update charge failure. Error 1015, where the app reports a battery reading that never changes, is not documented here yet: the reports we hold come from a group that is not public, so there is nothing this site can cite. A public report would change that.

Charging repeatedly fails to start, or drops mid-charge with an audible reconnect loop. Before assuming a defective charger, brick, or dock, rule out heat — it is a real factor in charging behaviour and it costs nothing to test. Mammotion's own summer guidance describes the mowers as built with several layers of thermal protection, including intelligent battery thermal management, and recommends siting the charging station in a shaded, well-ventilated spot, adding a sunshade if direct sun reaches the mower while it charges1. So try charging in shade or during a cooler part of the day before replacing hardware. Reported on LUBA 2 3000 (5 September 2026); likely applies to any model sharing the same charging hardware/firmware generation.

Mower dies mid-lawn instead of returning to charge. The return-to-charge battery threshold is fixed and not user-configurable: a Luba 1 owner reports the mower going home at 15% and back out at 80%, with "no settings to change this"11, and a LUBA 2 AWD 5000HX owner reports it heading home at 14% and stopping dead halfway there, needing to be carried2. On larger lawns or longer tasks that leaves too little margin to actually make it back to the dock. Until Mammotion offers a configurable threshold, plan task/zone sizes conservatively rather than assuming a fault. Confirmed on original LUBA 2 (2024) and LUBA 1; likely a firmware-wide limitation, not model-specific.

"Lifetime free" iNavi/4G service shows as "expired" in the app. One owner's advertised lifetime-free connectivity showed as expired in the app UI; Mammotion support initially denied this was covered, then confirmed by email that it was in fact still active3. If you see an expired notice on a plan advertised as lifetime, push back with support rather than assuming you need to pay. Single-source — worth corroborating before treating as a general rule.

Battery drains even when the mower is off and the charging station is depowered. If you cut power to the charging station while the mower is away or between seasons, also power the mower fully off — otherwise WiFi/GPS keep drawing current and the battery drains even though nothing is "wrong." Reportedly this standby-drain behavior changed after an update earlier in the year (unconfirmed, worth treating as a caveat rather than fact)4. Single source.

Charging station's green LED is always on, including at night — there's no brightness setting. If it's bright enough to be a nuisance, owners cover it with opaque tape rather than expecting a dimming option5. 2 independent confirmations in the same thread.

A protective housing/shed over the mower does not block its rain sensor. A common concern repeated in owner discussions is that covering the mower with a housing prevents it from detecting rain, since the sensor is mounted on the mower itself, not the charging station. One owner addressed this directly: the mower still leaves its housing to mow on schedule, gets rained on directly if it's actually raining, and returns without mowing once it detects wet conditions — the housing only shelters it while parked, it doesn't intercept rain detection during an actual mow attempt12. If you're deciding whether to buy or build a housing, this specific objection doesn't hold up; a housing's real tradeoff is heat/UV protection for the plastic and battery when parked in full sun, not rain-sensing. Single source (LUBA mini 2 AWD), reasoning is mechanistic (the sensor only matters once the mower is actively driving) rather than something model-specific.

Docking setup: the station needs a clear line of sight to the mower, and to sit level. Program a short (20–30cm) straight "channel" path directly in line with the station, keep the station flush rather than deep inside a shed (which can block its docking-beacon search angle), and make sure it sits level rather than tilted6. Community troubleshooting, unresolved in the source thread itself but the setup guidance is sound and uncontested.

Uneven ground under the charging station can cause a repeated dock-and-retry loop. A heavy mower can sink the station's front edge into soft ground over time, misaligning docking attempts; a metal shim under the low side fixed it for one owner7. Separately: ants nesting inside the station can short the contacts. If charging fails intermittently and the station's been in one spot a while, check for an ant nest inside — wet sand carried in by ants was the confirmed cause in one case; ant powder/granulate around the base was suggested as prevention7. Both from the same thread, two different owners.

Power-supply LED showing red while docked/charging is normal, not a fault. Three independent owners confirmed their PSU shows solid green while the mower is out mowing and solid red while docked/charging, which is the expected pattern, though Mammotion has never explained the color choice8. 3 independent confirmations.

Full power-cycle reset procedure for a "lost position"/stuck-navigation state. In order: power off the RTK station, charging station, and mower (long-press ~10s); remove the safety key; wait 5–10 minutes; power the RTK station back on and wait for its LED to go solid green; power the charging station back on; reinsert the safety key; power the mower back on (hold until the side light comes on); wait ~2 minutes; then open the app. This often lands the mower in a "positioning" state that needs a short manual drive via Bluetooth to confirm location9. Single source, corroborated by 2 reactions from other owners who confirmed it worked.

Mower gets stuck and drains its battery dead if it happens while you're away, with no way to recover it remotely. One owner returned from a two-week trip to find all three of their mowers (2 x LUBA 2 AWD 10000HX, 1 x LUBA 2 AWD 10000H), each pre-scheduled, stuck in open ground with dead batteries and none docked10. A reported mitigation using Home Assistant (third-party home-automation software, not a Mammotion feature): one owner has it monitor for a stopped mower and automatically issue a resume/return-to-charge command, removing the need to be physically present to un-stick it10. The mitigation has a real limit others in the same thread pointed out: it can't help once the battery has already died before reaching the charger — a fully dead mower can't respond to any remote command, automated or not. There's no official Mammotion feature for this as of this writing (one commenter suggested Mammotion should auto-wake all stuck mowers for a minute each hour specifically so a remote command has a chance to land before the battery dies — not implemented). Reported on LUBA 2 (multiple models); Home Assistant integration mechanics not independently verified here.

LUBA 2 reportedly still lacks a rain-delay/auto-resume-after-rain feature that newer models have. One owner reports that if it starts raining mid-task, their LUBA 2 simply stops and never resumes on its own — no automatic delay-and-retry behavior10. Single source, unconfirmed which specific newer models do have this feature or when it might come to LUBA 2 — worth checking your own model's settings for a rain-delay option before assuming it's absent.
