LUBA 3: shuts off mid-task with battery left, or runs flat without going home
LUBA 3 AWD owners report the mower switching itself off in the garden with battery showing, or stopping with a few percent left instead of driving back to charge, some after an update and with an 80% charge limit set. What owners found helped: a full charge to 100%, which Mammotion also suggests to calibrate the battery.

What to do next

If you have set a charge limit such as 80%, raise it to 100%. Let the mower charge fully on the dock, then mow again. Owners say a restart in the app can show a sudden drop in the battery figure; charge to full after it.
More about this step
Applies when: the mower switches itself off with battery showing, or the figure drops suddenly, especially after an update.
Worked if: the battery reading is set again from a full charge, and a shut-off caused by a wrong reading should stop.

Restart the mower, upload its log from the app. Send Mammotion support the device name, your firmware version and the exact time it shut off.
Stop and get help if
the mower will not turn on at all, with no lights: contact Mammotion support rather than trying more resets.

What owners report
- A LUBA 3 was mowing normally, then sat in the garden switched off at 43% battery. Turned back on, it mowed on, then switched off again five minutes later. Carried back to the dock, it read 0%. Mammotion had already replaced its mainboard and battery for this, and it came back1.
- A second owner in that thread says theirs does the same every time after installing an update with an 80% charge limit set, and that it is fine again after a charge1.
- A LUBA 3 AWD 3000 on
2.3.30.39mowed slowly and shut down completely at about 46% battery on its second mow after the update. Its owner had seen it before and hoped the update would fix it2. - Another LUBA 3 AWD 3000 on the same version stopped in the garden with 3% battery left and no error, instead of going back to charge3.
- A LUBA 3 3000 on
2.3.27.23read 85% while mowing and a few minutes later read zero. Carried to the dock, it charged up again, and it has not happened since3.
What helped
The first owner charged from empty to 100%, having kept the limit at 80% before, to calibrate the battery. A week later they wrote that Mammotion had suggested the same, a full charge after a battery replacement for calibration, and that it had been fine since they lifted the 80% limit1. Another owner's tip is to restart the mower from the app now and then, which shows a sudden drop in the figure, then charge it to full and set the return-to-charge level to the lowest, 15%2. A Mammotion account asked the 46% owner to restart the mower, upload the log, and send the device name and the time it happened2. A Mammotion staff account answered the first owner in French (translation ours): restart the device three times after the update, and if the problem stays, bring it to the repair centre, where engineers check it in detail4.
In the thread on a LUBA 3 AWD 5000 found dead after mowing, a staff account said Smart Sleep currently works only on a 4G connection. It suggested two ways to wake a mower that shows as asleep: switch Wi-Fi off in the app and try again, or, with the mower on the dock and powered on, give the power button a short press (a long press restarts it). After seeing that owner's case it recommended sending the mower to the service centre5.
Not the same as a mower that will not turn on
A LUBA 3 that shows no lights at all and does not respond to the power button is a different report, and needs Mammotion support; see what owners report about support and repairs. A charge that stops part-way on the dock is on its own page.
