Automower stops with 'cutting system blocked' and nothing is in the way
Three owners wrote on a French Automower forum that their mower stopped mid-lawn with "cutting system blocked" although nothing was in the way. Each could turn the blade disc freely by hand. One found a mechanical cause in the motor, one saw the fault clear by itself, and one has not reported an outcome. The message is French on the display; we give the English meaning.
From owners' reports in French, not from Husqvarna's own pages.

Safety first
Before you try anything below, read the safety rules from your mower’s manual.
Switch the mower off with its stop button and turn the blade disc by hand. Look round it for grass or an object. All three owners found the disc turned freely and saw nothing wrapped round it. Husqvarna's manual names two causes for this message, grass or an object round the disc, or the disc standing in water; they are in the fault reference.
Stop and get help if
you are not certain the mower is off: leave the disc alone, because it carries blades.

Applies when: the mower stops mid-lawn with 'cutting system blocked' and the disc looks clear.
Worked if: you find and clear what blocks it, or you know it is not the usual cause.

Put the mower on its station and leave it, then run the cutting-motor test from the hidden menu again. One owner's motor would not turn in the test one evening and turned at just over 2,200 rpm the next morning, and mowing resumed. The cause was never found, and the owner wonders about damp.

Method: one owner whose fault cleared overnight; two others who do not report a test result

If it keeps stopping, ask a dealer to check the cutting motor before you buy a new one. A forum regular said he would not replace the motor before the cause is known. One 415X owner found the motor shaft could move up and down, which stopped the motor starting, and says a printed collar to hold it kept the mower running all summer.
Stop and get help if
never run the mower with the cover open or with a disc that is loose: take it to a dealer instead. A collar fitted to a rotating shaft is one owner's repair, with no plan posted, and this site cannot vouch for it.

Tell us the model, how old the mower is, and what stopped it or cured it.

For what Husqvarna's manual says the message means, see the fault and error message reference. "Cutting height blocked" is a different message and is not covered here.
What the three reports have in common
- The disc turned freely. One owner took the mower apart, cleaned it and found nothing, and says the motor ran every time in the hidden-menu test, yet the message kept coming back after a few hours of mowing1. Another turned the disc by hand and felt no resistance and saw nothing2. The third says the disc turns when the mower is stopped and nothing is round it3.
- It stops mid-lawn. One mower stopped about ten minutes after restarting, then again an hour later2. Another stopped several times in the middle of the lawn after the winter, with new blades and a heavy purring from the motor while it ran3.
- None is a dirty-disc case. Husqvarna's manual names grass or an object round the disc as a cause; none of the three owners found one.
What each owner found
Play in the motor shaft: one owner. A 415X owner measured voltage at the motor's terminals, so ruled out the main board, and then found the motor shaft could move up and down. With the disc pushed up the shaft slid back down, and with it pushed down the motor would not start. Lubricating it helped for about an hour, because the shaft sank again under its own weight. A small ring printed on a 3D printer to hold the shaft in place lasted a while, then came off; a second one with a "hat", glued on the shaft, kept the mower working for two weeks, and the owner says it then mowed all summer without the error1. A second forum member says the same fix saved a friend's 415X cutting motor from being replaced1. Two forum members asked for a photo or the plan of the part; the thread does not show a reply.
It cleared by itself: one owner. A mower that had run out of charge in the field after cutting its own cable restarted after a recharge, and stopped ten minutes later with the message. The motor did not turn in the hidden-menu test. After a night on the station the test turned the motor at just over 2,200 rpm and mowing resumed. The owner did not open the mower, does not know why, and had cancelled the order for a new motor. The owner wonders whether damp makes the mower think it stands in water, which is one of the two causes Husqvarna's manual gives2. A forum regular would not replace the motor before the cause is known2.
No outcome: one owner. A mower back in service for the season worked very little. The owner suspected a worn cutting motor and asked how to check before replacing it. A regular replied with a pointer to another thread, and no later post is stored3.
What's unknown
- The cause. One shaft with play is the only mechanical finding. The overnight recovery has no explanation.
- How common it is. Three owners in two years on one forum; this is not a count of mowers.
- The models. One owner names a 415X. The other two do not give a model.
- Whether the shaft repair is safe or lasts. One owner's summer of use is all there is, and no plan was posted.
