    Stop and get help if

the STOP button does not work, or the mower is damaged: Husqvarna's manual says not to use it, so leave it off and speak to your Husqvarna servicing dealer.

This page is Husqvarna's own safety rules, in plain words. It follows the Automower 410iQ, 420iQ and 440iQ operator's manual (edition 2642-007, 16 June 2026)1. Other models have their own safety chapter, so read the one for your mower too.

Stop it, and don't use it, when

  • A person or animal comes in its way. Stop it straight away1.
  • It starts to vibrate abnormally. Set it to OFF1.
  • The STOP button doesn't work. Don't use it1.
  • It is damaged. Check it for damage before you start it again, and don't use it if it is damaged1.
  • A cable is damaged. Don't touch it until it is unplugged at the wall. A damaged cable must be replaced by service staff1.
  • There is standing water in the work area, for example pools after heavy rain. Don't let it run1.

To set it to OFF, go behind it and push the STOP button. Wait at least 3 seconds before you move it1.

The blades

  • Keep hands and feet away from the blades, and away from under the mower while it is ON1.
  • Don't lift or move it while it is ON1.
  • Don't touch the blade disc until it has stopped completely1.
  • Set it to OFF before you clear a blockage, do maintenance or look it over1.
  • Carry it by the handle with the blade disc away from your body1.
  • Don't change its design1.

People, children and pets

  • Keep everyone at least 3 m (10 ft) away while it runs. Don't sleep or sunbathe in the work area1.
  • Children under 8 should not be in the work area while it runs. Watch children and animals at all times1.
  • Use park mode or set it to OFF when people, especially children, or animals are in the work area1.
  • It can hurt animals at night, such as hedgehogs. Husqvarna suggests running it when the work area is quiet1.
  • In a public area, put up warning signs around the work area1.

Charger and battery

  • Charge it only in the charging station that came with it, and use only original Husqvarna batteries1.
  • Plug the power supply into a socket with a GFCI or RCD (30 mA at most)1.
  • Keep the charging station at least 60 cm (24 in) from anything that burns1.
  • Don't put it where people could trip on it or water could stand1.
  • Don't put the power supply on the ground or where it could end up in water1.
  • If a thunderstorm is likely, Husqvarna suggests unplugging the power supply and every wire to the charging station1.

Reports and recalls

To look for a recall: the EU Safety Gate, the UK product safety alerts and recalls, the US CPSC recalls, or your own country's product safety body.

Who to contact

If someone is hurt, get medical help1. For the mower, Husqvarna's support pages are on husqvarna.com, and the manual says to speak to your Husqvarna servicing dealer for more1. If something happened that others should know about, tell us too.
