Skip Row Mode and remote control: what Mammotion planned for September 2026, and where it stands

On 15 August 2026 a Mammotion account listed a September plan: remote control for older mowers, and Skip Row Mode with remote control for the LUBA 3, LUBA mini 2 and YUKA mini 2. Owners call the skip-row turning the Zamboni update. What was said, and how the date moved. Also what staff said about a notification switch.

What to do next

  1. Check which plan your mower is in. The 15 August post names remote control for the LUBA 2, LUBA 2X, YUKA, LUBA mini and YUKA mini series, and Skip Row Mode together with remote control for the LUBA 3, LUBA mini 2 and YUKA mini 2 series. The LUBA 2 and 2X are not in the Skip Row list.

  2. Do not plan the lawn around a release date. The date moved from September to a target of late October, and a Mammotion staff account said the feature was held back to be tested more. Until it ships, the page on turns tearing up the lawn lists what owners do now.

A plan, not a release. Nothing on this page says the feature has shipped. The first source is a Mammotion-named account. The rest are replies from two Mammotion staff accounts in the same and later threads, so every date and plan here is Mammotion's own, and each is a plan that can still move.

What was announced

On 15 August 2026 a Mammotion-named account posted a plan for September. For the LUBA 2, LUBA 2X, YUKA, LUBA mini series and YUKA mini series it listed remote control, to operate and recover the mower after an unexpected stop2. For the LUBA 3, LUBA mini 2 series and YUKA mini 2 series it listed the same remote control and Skip Row Mode, "to help reduce grass damage during mowing"1.

Owners call this the "Zamboni" update, after the way the mower would move and turn. On 22 September an owner asked where it was, and several replies hope it is well tested after the last update3.

What was said about the LUBA 2 and 2X

The 15 August list does not include Skip Row Mode for the LUBA 2 or LUBA 2X, and Mammotion staff gave a reason when owners asked. On 15 August a staff account wrote that the company was working to unify the LUBA 2 and 2X with the LUBA 3 so they share almost the same functions, including skip-lane, but that the chips and memory differ and it still needed work, and that it thought it would be ready in Q45. On 21 August another reply said the zamboni pattern had been built on the LUBA 3 first, for September, with the LUBA 2 to be tried in Q46. On 22 August the same account said the LUBA 2X would get remote control over the internet first, in September, and that the zamboni pattern would come later because it needs a rebuild of the software: "We are even not sure if it will succeed", it wrote, but it hoped for Q47.

How the date moved

On 8 September a Mammotion staff account told an owner who asked for an update on the Zamboni mode that "It is under testing and will be released to all users later in this month"8. On 13 September a staff account answering a question about remote control wrote "The development has been finished and it is under testing. You could get it this month"9.

On 27 September a staff account in a Zamboni thread wrote that the September plan had been dropped so the feature could be thoroughly tested. It said the engineering team's holiday was a reason to avoid rushing a release, and that the target was now late October3.

On 13 October an account in a separate thread said Skip Row Mode was being tested internally. It added that the feature needs more perimeter passes, gave the example that a LUBA mini 2 may need eight circuits, and asked owners whether they would accept that4.

The notification switch

The same staff accounts have also spoken about a different plan: letting owners choose which notifications the app sends. On 10 September, in a thread where an owner asked how many more people had to request this, one staff account posted a screenshot it called the design draft of a notification switch and wrote that development was almost finished and under testing10. A second staff account in that thread wrote the same day that the feature was in the testing phase11.

On 19 October, in a thread from a LUBA 3 owner who wanted fewer notifications while mowing, a staff account answered that the app does not currently support custom push notification settings13. It said the feedback had gone to the relevant team for evaluation, and that in the meantime the Mammotion app's notifications can be turned off or adjusted in the phone's own system settings14. About two hours later a second staff account in the same thread wrote that it expected to roll out the feature in the app by the end of October, after which owners could selectively disable notifications12.

The first reply speaks of evaluation and the second of a date, so both are shown as written and we do not pick between them. The end-of-October date has now passed. On 30 October, in the same thread, an owner wrote that the LUBA 3 sends no notification when it gets stuck15, and a staff account replied that it would forward the feedback to the relevant team for investigation16. It did not mention a release. As of 2 November this is still a plan, and its date has passed; nothing we have read says the switch has shipped.
