What to do next

  1. Read the mower's firmware version in the Mammotion app and find it in the list below. The newest release listed is 1.10.4.223 (October 12, 2023).

    More about this step

Applies when: your mower shows a version that starts V1.7, V1.9 or V1.10, or you want to know what a release changed.

Worked if: you know whether your mower is on a build listed here, and which build came after it.

Method: Mammotion's own release posts, cited below

  2. Update the mower's firmware in the app as well. Do this if the app says the mower is on the wrong version, or will not start a job after an app update. The app and the firmware are separate updates.

    Stop and get help if

the firmware update fails or stalls: stop and contact Mammotion support rather than repeating it.

    More about this step

Applies when: you updated the app, and the mower will not mow or will not connect.

Worked if: the app connects and the mower starts a job.

Didn't work? Next: step 3 — If your version is not on this list, tell us the version and...

Method: Mammotion's September 13, 2023 post lists the app and firmware upgrades separately; two owners in its replies report the mower would not work with the new app until its firmware was updated

  3. If your version is not on this list, tell us the version and what changed. This page stops at October 12, 2023, and we hold no Mammotion release post for anything later on this model.

    More about this step

Applies when: your mower shows a version newer than 1.10.4.223.

Worked if: a later release gets a field-reported entry instead of staying blank.

Method: this page's own gap note

Robot body — not the app. See our app vs. firmware vs. RTK guide if you're not sure which one you're dealing with.

Which mower this is: Mammotion's 2023 posts name the mower only as "LUBA". None of them says "LUBA 1", so which model these firmware numbers belong to is not stated. Mammotion's own warranty statement does list a "LUBA 1 AWD series" as a product line.8 We tag the page LUBA 1 AWD, the earliest LUBA line in our model list, and mark that as unconfirmed. If you know which model a version belongs to, let us know.

Mammotion announced each of these firmware releases on its own forum, r/MammotionTechnology. This page lists them in order, with the date and version number exactly as Mammotion gave them and a short summary of what each release changed. Firmware is the mower's own software, separate from the phone app. Where a post names the app versions released with it, they are listed too.

Version history, newest first

1.10.4.223: October 12, 20237

Fixed the mower cutting the perimeter in the opposite direction when the charging station sits near the perimeter. Fixed occasional repeated collisions in narrow areas. Fixed notifications sometimes not arriving after a failed recharge. Reduced the uncut area left near the charging station. Changed the charging protection. The post names no app version.

1.10.4.222: September 27, 2023, with Android app 1.10.44 and iOS app 1.10.4510

Added battery health monitoring. Fixed the mower mowing the task zones in a discontinuous order, losing the progress of an unfinished task after a failed recharge and reboot, occasionally colliding with the charging station when cutting the perimeter, and a wrong zero mowing area on the task report after cutting the perimeters only. The app update improved the Bluetooth connection during manual mowing, the battery icon, recharge notifications and the distance prompts when editing boundaries.

In the replies, owners wrote that after this release the mower cut the perimeter the other way round, clockwise where it had gone counterclockwise, and one found the mower hanging off a curb10. On October 12 the poster of the release answered "Today we will release a version that hotfix this problem."10 The 1.10.4.223 post of the same day lists a fix for the mower cutting the perimeter in the opposite direction when the charging station sits near the perimeter7.

1.10.4.218: September 13, 2023, with Android app 1.10.26 and iOS app 1.10.276

A feature release. New: manual mowing mode, resuming an unfinished task after a reboot, starting a task at a chosen percentage, cutting around no-go zones and the zigzag lines together. Also new: the reason for a pause shown in the app, schedules that can be switched off for a while, following the boundary when the mower resumes at the point it stopped, and rolling back the last part of a boundary drawing when the RTK signal is invalid. (RTK is the reference station that gives the mower its precise position.) Also changed: the turning angle when an obstacle is ahead, tracking accuracy near the perimeter, and the speed of the coverage path shown in the app. Fixed an occasional failure when editing the boundary, collisions with the charging station, and coverage paths that fell outside the boundary. The app update also improved Wi-Fi stability.

Resuming an unfinished task after a reboot had been promised: on August 15 a Mammotion staff account told an owner in the August 10 thread that it would be offered in the next 1.10.x release9.

In the replies, two owners separately hit the same problem: after the app updated, the mower would not work with it until its firmware was updated too. For one the app would not connect, for the other the mower stopped its scheduled mowing.6

1.9.4.252: September 7, 20235

Protected the lift motor from hardware damage in some extreme circumstances. Mammotion's post headed this one "Highly recommended to upgrade this version". The post names no app version.

1.9.4.251: August 16, 20234

Fixed error 1010, where the mower occasionally stopped after leaving the charging station. This was the only change in the post. The post names no app version.

1.9.4.250: August 10, 20233

Fixed some earlier schedules not showing in the app, some perimeter lines crossing no-go zones, error 1204 (failing to reach one zone), and the mower occasionally losing its LoRa configuration (a long-range radio setting). The post names no app version.

1.9.4.247: July 31, 2023, with Android app 1.9.54 and iOS app 1.9.532

New: choose to cut the perimeter of no-go zones, and cut the perimeter only, with no zigzag. Faster, more accurate mowing around no-go zones, easier task area creation and editing, and better Wi-Fi stability. Fixed zigzag paths outside the zone boundary, a false "charging" status away from the charging station, a failure when creating several complicated areas, wrong mowing area and duration in task reports, and the lift motor adjustment error. Mammotion's note: keep no-go zones at least 15 cm (6 in) from obstacles, or abnormal pauses become more likely when perimeter cutting is on for no-go zones.

1.7.2.247: May 2, 2023, with Android app 1.7.8 and iOS app 1.7.91

New: a segment grid function that makes several cutting routes in different directions inside an irregular zone, boundary wiping when creating a task area, a task history report on the Map page, and an anti-coasting function that turns the mower before power off so it does not roll on a slope. The smallest allowed zone is now 5 square meters (54 sq ft). The mower zigzags first and then follows the zone edges, and returns to the charging station along the zone edges instead of across the middle. Mammotion also improved mowing in narrow zones and the transmission from the RTK reference station to the mower, up to 120 m (394 ft), and fixed inaccurate task progress and time estimates.

What this page does not cover

This list stops at October 12, 2023, the last post we hold. It is not a claim that nothing shipped after that date. Mammotion's posts are the only source here, so a release it did not announce on this forum is not listed. Four of the seven posts (July 31, August 10, September 7 and October 12) are read from Internet Archive copies, which hold the post text and no replies. Owner replies appear only where two or more separate owners hit the same thing.

If your mower shows a version that is not on this list, or you can say which model these builds belong to, let us know.
