LUBA 2: turns tear up the lawn since the summer firmware, and what owners and Mammotion say to change
LUBA 2 owners report bare, torn patches at corners, around small excluded zones and in front of the charger since the summer 2026 firmware. A Mammotion staff account suggests marking worn areas as no-go zones and changing the mowing angle, and said on 22 September that a new firmware was coming. What was said, and what is not known.

What to do next
-
Mark the worst worn patches as no-go zones, so the mower stops turning on them. This is the first thing a Mammotion staff account suggested to LUBA 2 owners, in September and again in October.
Stop and get help if
the zone would cut off part of the lawn you want mown: one owner points out that if he remapped the perimeters every time the mower wore them down, the whole lawn would end up bare.
More about this step
Applies when: a corner, a strip beside a zone or the spot in front of the charger is already torn.
Worked if: the mower stops turning on the bare ground while it recovers.
Didn't work? Next: step 2 — Change the mowing angle in the task, and check that multi-point...
Method: a Mammotion staff account, 21 September and 20 October, in the cited threads
-
Change the mowing angle in the task, and check that multi-point turning is switched on in the app. Staff asked about both.
More about this step
Applies when: the same spots keep getting torn up.
Worked if: the turns land in different places each task, instead of on the same patch.
Didn't work? Next: step 3 — Send Mammotion a photo of the worn lawn with its place on the...
Method: a Mammotion staff account, 21 September, in the cited thread
-
Send Mammotion a photo of the worn lawn with its place on the app map. Add a log from the app, with your firmware version.
Stop and get help if
an owner says he will not install a new version he cannot take back: that is his call, and this page does not know how 1.30.31.19 behaves.
More about this step
Applies when: the damage continues after the steps above.
Worked if: support has what it asked for, and your case is logged with the team working on the firmware.
Didn't work? Next: step 4 — Tell us your LUBA 2 model, your firmware version and whether...
Method: a Mammotion staff account, 21 September and 20 October
-
Tell us your LUBA 2 model, your firmware version and whether anything above changed it. Above all, tell us how 1.30.31.19 behaves for you.
More about this step
Applies when: you tried the steps, or have updated to 1.30.31.19.
Worked if: the next owner can tell whether a version, a setting or the soil is behind it.

What owners report
- Around small excluded zones. A LUBA 2 owner updated to 1.30.29.26 and says the mower keeps tearing up the grass around two excluded zones of one metre by one metre. One of the two patches was already being reseeded when the second was ruined1.
- In corners and in front of the charger. Another owner in the same thread says he gets this in all corners and in front of the charger2. A third wrote that the mower was "killing my lawn too".
- A worn corner. A LUBA 2 owner posted a corner of lawn where, he says, bad software has worn the turf away over the last few months3. A few days later, in another thread, he wrote that remapping would only create new bare patches4.
- Zero-point turns. An owner in a thread started by an image-only post of 19 September says that over the last two or three firmware versions the zero-point turns have been chewing up the soil, even with multi-point turning on, and that turning the mower by hand does not do it5. The post names no model and shows ground torn up by a turn on a slope5.
These are separate owners across three threads. The posts do not give a LUBA 2 sub-model, and only one names a firmware version, 1.30.29.26.
What Mammotion says
- 21 September. A staff account asked the owner whether multi-point turning was switched on in the app. It suggested setting the severely worn areas as no-go zones and adjusting the mowing angle, to see whether that helps6. It also asked for a photo of the worn area and its place on the app map7.
- 22 September. To another owner who posted a torn patch, the same account wrote that the case was logged and shared with the team, and that a new firmware version would be released soon to improve operation8. It gave no version number and no date.
- 20 October. To the owner of the worn corner, the account suggested no-go zones again, and said mowing performance had been optimised in the latest firmware, 1.30.31.19. It asked how the mower behaves on it, and, if the turning is still not satisfactory, for a log and a video9.
Where owners stand
The owner of the worn corner answered that he would not test a new version for them when he has no way back to an older one10. Another owner asked for the spring 2025 firmware back11. What can and cannot be rolled back is on Software rollback on Android: what's actually possible.
What is not known
Whether 1.30.31.19 stops the damage: none of the threads read here reports a result on it. Which LUBA 2 sub-models are affected, and whether the cause is the turning logic, wheel torque or something else. Mammotion's accounts have not named a cause.
Independently reported 7 times by different owners. Manufacturer has acknowledged this. This records that the issue was independently reported — it isn't an estimate of how common the issue is among all owners.
