Scope of this page: the tables below are Husqvarna's own fault and information messages for the Automower 410iQ, 420iQ and 440iQ, from the full edition of its operator's manual (edition line 2455 - 007 - 16.06.2026, as the file prints it)1. The shorter manual that Husqvarna's US support pages list for the 410 iQ and 420 iQ says of itself that it is a short version, and its troubleshooting chapter is the station lamp table alone. A message on another model can differ: the fault and error message reference lists the manual for each model, and the owner-report pages for the same messages. Each cause and action is put in plain words; the meaning is the manual's.

Husqvarna names its messages; it does not number them. Each shows what Automower Connect or Automower Access shows: a name such as "Trapped" or "No loop signal", then the cause and the action. It may show the name in your own language; we give the manual's English. This edition is the US one and prints a US Customer Care number in many actions; we leave it out, and where it appears the manual's own step before it is the one given here.

410iQ, 420iQ and 440iQ: what stops the mower

From section 8.1, Messages, pages 47 to 49 and 52 to 53 of the manual. The manual says these messages are shown in Automower Connect and Automower Access, and to speak to your Husqvarna representative if the same message shows frequently1. It covers both boundary-wire and EPOS (wire-free) installations; the rows for the loop signal and the boundary are marked as for wire installations only.

Message Cause, per the manual What Husqvarna says to do
No loop signal (wire installations only) Seven causes: no power in the charging station, and its LED is not on; the boundary wire is damaged or not installed correctly; ECO mode is on and the loop signal is disabled because the product was started in the work area; the boundary wire is crossed on its way to and from an island; the product does not find the loop signal from the station; disturbances from metal objects (fences, reinforcement steel) or buried cables close by; the product is too far from the boundary wire Check the station's power supply and low-voltage cable, the power outlet and the residual-current device; check the boundary wire is connected to the station, check all splices and repair a break; put the product in the station, start it by hand, push STOP before you remove it from the station; lay the wire correctly round the island; put the product in the station and make a new loop signal; move the boundary wire or make more islands to increase the signal strength; redo the installation so every part of the work area is at most 35 m (115 ft) from the boundary wire1
Outside work area (wire installations only) Six causes: the wire connections at the station are crossed; the wire is too close to the edge of the work area; the work area is too steep by the boundary wire; the wire around an island is not installed correctly; disturbances from metal objects or buried cables close by; the product cannot find the correct loop signal because of interference from a different installation nearby Check the wire is connected correctly; put the wire down correctly; move the wire or make more islands; put the product in the station and make a new loop signal1
Trapped The product is blocked in a small area behind a number of obstacles Examine whether there are obstacles that make it hard for the product to move away from this location1
Slipped The product slips because there is an obstacle; because of wet grass; because it has hit an obstacle and stopped, or the wheels cannot move on the wet grass; because the slope is too steep; because the slope is too steep when it follows the guide wire Remove the obstacle; wait until the lawn is dry before you start the product again; free the product and rectify the reason for the lack of drive, and if it is wet grass wait until the lawn is dry before using it; isolate the steep slope with boundary wire; install the guide wire diagonally in the slope1
Slope too steep The product stopped because the slope is too steep Change the installation of the boundary wire to exclude this steep part of the work area1
Collision The body of the product cannot move freely around its chassis Make sure the body can move freely around the chassis, that it is correctly installed, and that no dirt or unwanted material blocks it; if the problem continues, contact your authorized service center1
Wheel motor blocked, left, rear left, right or rear right; Wheel motor overloaded, left or right; Wheel drive problem, right or left The drive wheel is blocked by grass or other objects Examine the drive wheel and remove the grass or other objects; for the wheel drive problem, examine the right drive wheel and remove the grass or objects, and if the problem continues speak to your authorized service center1
Cutting system blocked The cutting system is blocked by grass or other objects Examine the cutting system and remove the grass or other objects; use protective gloves when you examine the cutting system1
Cutting system major imbalance; Cutting system imbalance There are vibrations in the blade disc; the product has discovered vibrations in the blade disc Make sure the blades and screws are not damaged or worn and that all blades are correctly installed with only one blade attached in each position; clean the blades and the cutting disc. The manual warns that continued operation can damage the cutting system1
Unexpected cutting height adj (the manual cuts the name off); Limited cutting height range; Cutting height problem The cutting height adjustment cannot move Examine the cutting height adjustment and remove grass or other objects; if the problem continues, contact your authorized service center1
Cutting height blocked Grass or other objects are wound around the cutting height adjustment, or between the blade disc and the chassis Examine the blade disc and the bellows around the cutting height adjustment, and remove any grass or other objects that may have got stuck1
Destination not reachable There is no guide wire, transport path or boundary wire in the work area, so the product cannot go to the destination; a stay-out zone blocks the way Edit or make a new installation of the work area in the app and include a guide wire or a boundary wire in the work area; edit or remove the stay-out zone or make a new installation of the work area1
Destination blocked An obstacle stops the product going to the destination Remove the obstacle1
Guide 1, 2 or 3 not found The guide wire you have installed before is not found Examine whether the guide wire is correctly connected to the charging station or to the boundary wire, and whether there is a break in the guide wire1
Map problem The map object file is incorrect Check the map in the app, adjust it and save it; or delete the map and do a new installation1
Invalid firmware configuration The firmware in the product is not updated Use the Automower Connect app to make sure the mower has the latest firmware; if the problem continues, speak to your authorized service center1

410iQ, 420iQ and 440iQ: GPS and wire-support messages

Two observations on the wording as printed, not corrections. The last Slipped row, for a slope that is too steep when the product follows the guide wire, tells the owner to "make sure that the slope is too steep for the product", and points to the technical data on page 62; the row before it says to check whether the slope is too steep. The manual prints Radar problem inside the block of restart-only messages, with no cause or action of its own for the radar.

410iQ, 420iQ and 440iQ: the station lamp

Section 8.2, page 53. The manual says the lamp is green when the installation is correct1.

Lamp Cause, per the manual What Husqvarna says to do
Constant green The signals of the charging station are good No action is necessary
Flashes green The signals of the station are good and ECO mode is enabled No action is necessary
Flashes blue For an EPOS installation: the product is not connected to the station with Bluetooth. For a boundary wire installation: the boundary wire is not connected to the station; or the boundary wire is damaged Make a pairing between the product and the station in the Automower Connect app; connect the boundary wire to the station; replace the damaged section of the boundary wire with new boundary wire

410iQ, 420iQ and 440iQ: symptoms with no message

Section 8.3, pages 54 and 55, lists problems the product shows without a message1.

Symptom Cause, per the manual What Husqvarna says to do
The product has difficulty docking The guide wire is not put straight in a line and the correct distance from the station; the guide wire is not put in the slot in the station plate; the station is not on a level surface Check the installation of the station; put the guide wire straight and in the slot of the station plate; put the station on a level surface1
The product operates at the wrong time The time or the date in the product is not correct; the start and stop times for operating are incorrect Set the time or date; change the schedule settings1
The product vibrates The cutting system is out of balance because of damaged blades; too many blades in the same position; blades of different thickness Examine the blades and screws and replace them if necessary; check that only one blade is attached to each screw; check whether the blades are of different thickness and replace them if necessary1
The product operates, but the blade disc does not rotate The product searches for the charging station, or is moving to the starting point Usual operation: the blade disc does not rotate while the product searches for the station1
The product operates for shorter periods than usual between charges Grass or another object causes a blockage to the blade disc; the battery is at the end of its life cycle; blunt blades, so more energy is needed when cutting the grass Remove and clean the blade disc; replace the battery; replace the blades1
Mowing and charging times are shorter than usual The battery is at the end of its life cycle Replace the battery1
The product is parked for hours in the charging station The product has operated for the maximum cutting time for the day; the hatch is closed but the jog wheel is not pushed; Parking mode is enabled; the battery temperature is too high or too low to operate Nothing to do about the cutting time, see the schedule; push STOP to open the hatch, enter the PIN code and confirm with OK, push the jog wheel and close the hatch; change the operating mode; make sure the station is in a place protected from the sun1
Uneven mowing results The product operates for a small number of hours per day; the shape of the work area needs the Lawn coverage settings adjusted; the work area is too large; blunt blades; long grass for the set cutting height; grass collects at the blade disc or around the motor shaft Increase the cutting time; change the settings of the areas where the product starts to cut and how often; decrease the size of the work area or extend the schedule; replace all the blades; increase the cutting height and then lower it when the grass is shorter; remove the collection of grass and clean the product1
The battery is empty, the product is in the station, but it does not charge and cannot be set to ON If the battery is deeply discharged, it takes a long time to charge it before the product can be set to ON Keep the product in the station for 24 hours and test whether it can be set to ON; if the problem continues, speak to your authorized service technician1

What the tables do not tell you

They say what Husqvarna tells owners to do. They say nothing about how often a message appears or whether the action works. The owner-report pages in the fault and error message reference are for that. A message name that is not on this page may still be in your manual.

Nothing here matches your symptom?

A fault that isn't listed here doesn't mean nothing is wrong with your mower. The manufacturer's own manual is linked from this page, and the guides for this brand are listed on its overview.

Found something we don't cover yet? Send us the details — that's how the next owner finds it documented.

If your code isn't here

  1. Find the message Automower Connect or Automower Access shows in the tables on this page. Read the manual's cause and action for it. Many messages list more than one cause: read them all before you act.

    More about this step

Applies when: the app or the mower shows a message.

Worked if: you have Husqvarna's own action for that message, not a forum guess at what it means.

Didn't work? Next: step 2 — Look at the lamp on the charging station. It should show solid...

Method: the fault and information message tables in Husqvarna's 410iQ, 420iQ and 440iQ operator's manual, read row by row for this page

  2. Look at the lamp on the charging station. It should show solid or flashing green. A flashing blue lamp means, for a wire installation, that the boundary wire is not connected to the station or is damaged, and for an EPOS installation that the product is not connected to the station by Bluetooth; a flashing red lamp, that the top of the station is not installed correctly; a solid red lamp, an error in the circuit board or the power supply.

    More about this step

Applies when: the message is about the loop signal, the charging station or leaving or finding it, or the mower stops with no message you can match.

Worked if: you know whether the problem is the station and its wire rather than the mower.

Didn't work? Next: step 3 — Open the owner-report page for your message. Find it from the...

Method: the charging-station lamp table in the manual

  3. Open the owner-report page for your message. Find it from the table on the fault and error message reference, to see what other owners found and how many of them found it.

    More about this step

Applies when: the manual's action did not fix it, or your message is in that table.

Worked if: you have what owners actually did about it, beside what the manual says.

Didn't work? Next: step 4 — Speak to your Husqvarna representative or approved servicing...

Method: the owner-report pages named in that table; what they hold is stated on each

  4. Speak to your Husqvarna representative or approved servicing dealer. Do this if the same message keeps coming back, as the manual says.

    Stop and get help if

the station lamp is solid red: the manual says an authorised service technician must correct that, so leave the station alone.

    More about this step

Applies when: the message comes back after you have followed the manual's action.

Worked if: someone with the diagnostic tool reads the mower, or you know the dealer's terms.

Method: the manual's own wording on repeated messages
