Error 1015 (Battery status update failed): reported on YUKA

Models covered
YUKA 2024 (confirmed); a second, independent case doesn't state a sub-model
Last updated
6 September 2026
What this page is: two independently-reported cases of "Battery status update failed (1015)" on YUKA units, both resolved the same way — a diagnostic report to Mammotion support followed by mailing the unit in for a hardware-level repair. If you're hitting this, don't expect a self-service fix; the confirmed path runs through Mammotion support.

What the error means

Mammotion's app shows "Battery status update failed (1015)" when the mower can't report a valid battery-charge reading — typically the dock's charging LED behaves normally (green, flashing as if charging) while the reported battery level stays stuck at 0%. Error 1015 does not appear in Mammotion's official product manuals — see the fault-codes reference for the codes that are officially documented.

Confirmed cases

Original report — YUKA 2024

An owner's green charging-side LEDs flashed normally, as if the unit were charging, but the reported battery level stayed at 0%. He'd tried cleaning the charging contacts, unblocking the battery, restarting the robot, and a full factory reset — none of it worked. He also noted the fault first appeared right after resetting a preceding wheel-hub-motor-error code, after which charging stopped entirely1.

Independent corroboration — same error, same fix path

A second owner, replying on the same thread, reported hitting the identical error. Mammotion support had him submit a diagnostic report from the app, then mail the unit itself in for repair — Mammotion fixed it and returned it "surprisingly quick"1.

A third commenter on the same thread (an owner already tracked on this site for an unrelated water-damage report) added that his own unit has now failed a second, different way in two years — an RTK module failure the prior year, and this year the same charging/1015 symptom — and that Mammotion's diagnosis on this occasion was water damage. His unit was mailed in and awaiting repair as of the report1.

If you're hitting this

  1. Don't expect a self-service fix. Cleaning the contacts, restarting, and even a full factory reset did not resolve this for the original reporter — this looks like a hardware-level fault, not a settings or firmware issue.
  2. Contact Mammotion support and submit a diagnostic report from the app. That's the step that got both confirmed cases moving toward a fix.
  3. Be prepared to mail the unit in. Both confirmed resolutions required sending the mower itself to Mammotion, not a remote/software fix — but both reporters describe the turnaround as reasonably fast once support accepted the diagnostic report.
  4. If your unit was recently exposed to unusual moisture (even indirectly, or with the unit stored partially covered), mention that explicitly to support — water damage has been named as an actual diagnosis for at least one case behind this same error code.
Only two fully independent reporters are confirmed so far, though both hit the identical fault and resolution path. If you've hit this error, let us know — especially if you find a fix that doesn't require mailing the unit in.
